Just to get it out there: I'm sure that no one will try to develop this, so my question is mostly theoretical.
When programming a microcontroller, you can assign some function to one of the available pins to make a hardware button that will do something. For example, when building a homemade music player based on microcontroller you will need play\pause button, fast forward and rewind buttons, etc, so you program this functions in such a way that you can add hardware buttons and solder them...
