IDU mode for 6.72 Remote Play

I've been looking at getting remote play working, and I've stumbled across this on Reddit (Reddit!!! I know!)

Just wondering if anyone else has attempted this? I'm aware of update possibilities when in IDU mode, and the hotspot bit in the video made me wonder. But I've got an esp8266 I can connect PS4 and lappy to, if I decide to go through with this.

Any thoughts? Talk me out of it until...
